The Taj Mahotsav - Celebration At The Monument Of Love

Amidst the monument of love, The Taj Mahal reciting a beautiful love story, an amazing festival of art and culture takes place i.e. The Taj Mahotsav. This festival is an amalgamation of people, art, and culture.

The venue of this festival is Shilpgram which is near the Eastern Gate of Taj Mahal. People from across the globe love to be a part of this grand festival.

This festival is a platform for all the artisans, musicians and dancers to showcase their art to people. Not only just handicrafts but there are many musical and dance performances in the evening with an outstanding backdrop of Taj Mahal. You also get to witness the grand procession of magnificently decorated elephants and camels which is worth a watch.

The ten-day long festival has a variety of all the events, art and tempting food stalls. You get to witness the hidden folk culture of India. Apart from this, for the handicrafts you can see the famous Zari work from Banaras, Zardozi work from Agra, Chikankari of Lucknow and much more.

Started in the year 1992, this festival is in its 25th year this time. This year, the festival will take place from 18th February 2019 to 27th February, 2019.You can also have an opportunity to witness the Taj Mahal on a full moon day during the festival on 22nd February. The scene is undoubtedly a beautiful one and shouldn’t be missed!

There is an entry fee for single adults - Rs. 40, while children and foreign tourists have a free entry.
