DESCRIPTION

                Take a happening 5N/6D trip to Kullu, Himachal, with us, covering offbeat destinations like Fojal valley, Tirthan valley, Naggar, and Shangarh. With spectacular mountain peaks, plunging river valleys, dense forests, and a high possibility of snowfall around this time, Kullu is Himachal’s most-sought after region to explore. This is an all-inclusive trip covering transportation, stays at our hostels in incredible locations, and wholesome meals. We’re taking only 12 people per batch. Read the itinerary for more details. 

Post booking confirmation, we will reach out to all booked participants via email 21 days prior to the commencement date of the trip with further information. A WhatsApp group will be made for all participants to connect and plan their travel together to the origin and destination points.

ITINERARY

Day 1- 6th Mar, Mon: Explore Manali
  • Reach Dobhi and check-in at Zostel Dobhi. Take a rest for a while and get accustomed to the climate. 

  • After a while, we leave to explore Manali, to check must-have experiences of the town, covering Hadimba temple and Mall Road. Later in the evening, we go out for cafe hopping in Old Manali. 

  • After you’ve had your fill of Dobhi, return to the hostel by 8:30 pm for a filling dinner and sleep. 

  • Manali at a glance: Manali is a town of lots of blissful offerings, such as jaw-dropping mountain views, thrilling adventures, famed cafes, and an awe-inspiring travelling culture. On the first day of this trip, we will cover the must-go travel spots of Manali. And from the next day, we will cover the offbeat locations of Kullu.
Day 2- 7th Mar, Tue: Explore Dobhi, Manali's paragliding town
  • Start your morning with a hearty breakfast at 8 am. 

  • After breakfast, we leave for a trek to Fojal valley, where you can chill in the meadows. Later, we take a tour of the Fish Farm. You can also enjoy fresh fried fish at your own expense. 

  • Return to the hostel by 8:30 pm for a filling dinner and a sweet night’s sleep. 

  • Dobhi at a glance: Dobhi invites you to explore Himachal’s offbeat Fojal valley, only 20 km from Manali. When you’re here, look forward to exploring the serene Fojal stream, rich fruit orchards, and the towering mountains of Kullu.
Day 3- 8th Mar, Wed: Explore Naggar, Himachal’s ancient castle town
  • Have a wholesome breakfast at Zostel Dobhi. 

  • And by 8 am, be ready to leave for Naggar village. Here, you can explore the local art and craft along with serene beauty all around. You can also indulge in adventure activities such as paragliding, river rafting, and ziplining at your own expense. 

  • Afternoon, have a lunch made out of local cuisine at your own expense. Return to the hostel by 8:30 pm, have a delicious dinner, and call it a night.
Day 4- 9th Mar, Thur : Dobhi to Shangarh, the meadow village
  • At around 8 am, have a filling breakfast at Zostel Dobhi. 

  • After breakfast, we leave for Shangarh and check-in at Zostel Shangarh. Afterwards, take a tour of Shangarh’s lush meadows. 

  • Return to the hostel by 8 pm, have a wholesome dinner at the rooftop common area with spectacular views, and call it a night. 

  • Shangarh at a glance: Tucked away in the forested mountain range of the Great Himalayan National Park, Shangarh is dipped in scenic beauty. This underrated hamlet in Himachal offers sublime views of the snow-capped mountains and lush meadows.
Day 5- 10th Mar, Fri : Shangarh to Laida, a village with the finest of nature and culture
  • After a hearty breakfast at the hostel, we leave for a tiny village called Laida near Jibhi. 

  • At around 12 pm, check-in at Zostel Homes Laida and leave for a hike to Chaini Kothi. It is a 400 year old fortress turned into a towering temple. 

  • Be back at the homestay by 8 pm to relish a wholesome dinner. End the day with a sweet night’s sleep. 

  • Laida at a glance: Nestled in close proximity to the Great Himalayan National Park, Laida offers a great time in nature, as the nearby national park treats you to the best of wilderness and peace. When you’re here, look forward to village walks, nature hikes, and strolls around fruit orchards.
Day 6- 11th Mar, Sat: Explore Tirthan Valley in the Great Himalayan National Park
  • Have a hearty breakfast at Zostel Homes Laida and be ready for exciting outdoor experiences.

  • At around 8 am, we leave for Jalori Pass and hike to Serolsar lake. This time of the year, you can find Jalori Pass covered in snow and Serolsar lake in its frozen avatar. So, expect a wonderful winter experience here. 

  • Return to Zostel Dobhi by 7 pm and depart for the onward journey. 

  • The trip ends here with lots of memories to be cherished for life. If you like to extend your stay at Zostel Dobhi, you can very well do that. Hope to see you again on another adventure with Zostel.

INCLUSIONS

  • What to Carry: Packing light is always a good idea! However, you’re venturing into one of the coldest regions of India, so we recommend that you prepare for this trip well in advance and pack as accurately as possible. A few essentials we always suggest you carry are: ● A good pair of hiking shoes. ● Caps/hats and a pair of sunglasses, towel, water bottle, and thermos flask. ● A rain cover and a raincoat/poncho, adequate woolens, and a windcheater jacket. ● Thermal wear that supports 5 to 10 degree temperatures- 2 pairs of socks and gloves, fleece, thermal pants, and t-shirts. ● Finally, a torchlight, an umbrella, sunscreen or moisturizer, personal meds, and toiletries.
  • Inclusions: A total of 10 meals (5 breakfasts and 5 dinners); everyday commute by a 12-seater tempo traveler; all inner line permits for the trip; driver night charges, toll tax, parking charges; an oxygen cylinder in case of emergency; travel insurance for all participants. * Kindly note, considering the remoteness of the place, the supply of breakfast and dinner might have limited varieties

POLICIES

  • Exclusions: Transport to and from Dobhi(Manali); any kind of food items or beverages that are not included in the package like alcoholic drinks, mineral water, refreshments/lunches on the highway; any personal expenses; any cost arising due to natural calamities; anything not mentioned in the inclusions.
  • Important accommodation disclaimer: Due to extreme conditions in remote areas, travelers may have to adjust to a limited hot water supply, water in buckets, Indian toilets, and dry toilets. The team shall always try their best to make the journey smooth and comfortable for all participants, however, we urge you to accommodate minor inconveniences that are difficult to manage or impossible to change, given the altitude, temperatures, and remoteness of the locations. ● Accommodation will be on sharing basis as follows - 1. Dorm rooms at Zostel Dobhi 2. Dorm rooms at Zostel Shangarh 3. Private rooms on a sharing basis at Zostel Homes Laida ● Room upgrade to "Private Rooms" is possible on arrival at the property subject to availability or can be booked directly from our website in advance.   • Cancellation: Due to harsh weather conditions, homestays located in remote regions have to make preparations for your stay much in advance. The booking amount is 100% refundable if a cancellation is made 21 days prior to the commencement date. For cancellations made within 21 days from the date of trip commencement, no refund will be applicable.
  • Who should join this trip - ●We strongly recommend individuals of age 18-35 yrs. ●Heart patients are not allowed to participate in this expedition. ●The trip involves traveling in a 12-seater traveler for up to 6-8 hours. People with back problems or looking to travel by their own vehicle are not advised to book.
  • Zostel will not be responsible in case of delays or alterations in the program or indirect expenses such as natural hazards, accidents, machinery breakdown, weather conditions, landslides, political closure, or any unforeseen incidents. Furthermore, the itinerary is planned according to the weather forecasted much in advance of the commencement date and may involve necessary changes in the schedule in the interest of safety, comfort, and general well-being, which will be informed on the WhatsApp group.   • Your travel insurance is covered under ASC360-Adventure Sports Cover 360, which provides comprehensive adventure safety assistance services. Participantas are requested to reach out directly.
  • Travelers are requested to respect Nature, the culture of the region, and the sentimental values of the locals. They must refrain from acts of littering, intoxication in public areas, and disrespecting people, animals, or any places of worship at all times.
  • This trip begins and ends in Dobhi(Manali). Travelers need to arrange their travels to and from Dobhi(Manali) on their own. Zostel Dobhi falls between Kullu and Manali and is 9 km from Naggar. ● By Bus: Take the bus from Delhi to Manali and drop off at Dobhi village (by the bridge). The nearest bus stands are Manali and Kullu, 22 km and 20.5 km respectively, from Zostel Dobhi. ● From Shimla Railway Station: 220 km, 7 hours, ~INR 8,000-10,000 for a cab to Zostel Dobi. ● From Bhuntar Airport: 31 km, 1 hour, ~INR 2,000 for a taxi to Zostel Dobhi.
  • 100% pre-payment is required for the confirmation of the booking.
  • We strictly discourage drinking and smoking on trips due to health & safety concerns. Hence, we recommend being in the right shape to make the most of them. In case of a medical emergency during the trip, participants are requested to reach out directly to the travel insurance provider. Insurance details will be shared directly with the participants on their respective email IDs. As Zostel is only facilitating the insurance, Zostel will not be accountable for any correspondence for the claim or refund in case you cannot carry forward with the trip.
