Theog, Shimla, Himanchal Pradesh

HIGHLIGHTS AND ACTIVITIES
Hike to Kanag: The best hike of the region, it leads to a stunning hill that overlooks a valley bursting with Cedar trees. The peak is majorly unexplored by the tourists and you’re likely to find the locals picnicking here on weekends. An easy hike and very close to our home, it is a must-go for its starry skies, the camping experience, and a great mountain view.
Hike to Shali Tibba A standalone peak in the area, Shali Tibba is the perfect vantage point for a 360-degree view of the Shimla hills. Resting on the top is a temple made of wood and stones, a perfect example of the rural Himalayan architecture. To reach Shali Tibba, you can drive up to the Khatnol Village, from where the hilltop is a short hike.
Hatu Peak The second highest peak in the Shimla region, the hill houses a small wooden temple at the top with a panoramic view of the valley. The sunsets from this peak are stunning, as the sky turns into shades of pink, red, and orange every evening. The peak is a 32 km drive from ZostelX Theog and is accessible by a vehicle.
Narkanda You can make a day trip to Narkanda, which is only an hour’s ride from Theog. Covered with a forest of fir trees, the village is just by the Hatu Peak. It also turns into a skiing resort in winters.
Kufri Kufri lies at 15km on the way from Theog to Shimla and can be visited as a day trip. Here, you can hike up to the famous Mahasu Peak in summers or go skiing in winters.
